Redbourn Road Rider

Meep meep, Get ready for the Rebourn Road Rider, Sunday the 14th of July 2024 – Redbourn is a wonderful little village with a rich cycling heritage. It’s easily accessible from London and the surrounding areas by both road and rail.

We’ve put together 3 spectacular routes that we feel will suit most levels. With the buzz of the crowd and being part of something bigger than your usual group ride, this organised bike event will allow you to push the boundaries of your usual comfort zones, knowing you’ll be supported both in the well stocked feed stops and in your mechanical needs.

With the Tour de France just starting you’ll certainly be fired up and raring to get on your bike! A shame there may not be a GB rider toping the podium this year.

Online pre-entry allows you to get this event in your diary and is the easiest way to secure your place. Numbers are limited for this event and you will be saving yourself an admin fee if you enter on-line rather than paying on the day. On-line pre-entry will also allow you to turn up on the day and just collect your entry pack without the hassle of filling in forms, registering and queuing up.

We may have to close registration on the day if the event reaches its capacity so it is best to pre enter on-line to avoid disappointment.

25 Miles
The 25 miler is a great way of testing your legs if just getting into cycling, or if you wanted to extend that usual family ride to something special to remember. This is a great route from the offset, providing great views, as well as a few testing hills on the way. The last five miles provide a gentle run in to the finish, making this the ideal bike ride for those not quite ready for higher distances.

50 Miles
The 50 miler is the perfect distance for those wanting to get a few extra miles on the clock. With a nice hill to warm you up and a couple thrown in towards the end, you’ll enjoy the flat middle section of this glorious ride that will take you further west towards Grove and Long Marston. There you’ll be able to tuck into cheese & crackers, homemade flapjacks and fill up your bottles before hitting the hills through Aldbury on the way back.

Don’t worry too much though as your mind will be taken off the 6 categorised climbs by some of the most picturesque countryside in the UK. With the likes of The Hale climb on the radar just after Wendover our famous homemade flap jacks should help you back to the HQ. Once at the finish you’ll be able to congratulate yourself after by tucking into a burger and beer, or maybe even a Sunday Roast at one of Redbourn’s fantastic pubs.
